Fair question!

I wondered this almost a million times. I wasn't primarily low on faith. To tell the truth I had a reasonably constant level of faith: I was able to trust God for my financial circumstances and in many cases bodily healing but once it came down to this eating disorder (bulimia, binge eating and compulsive overeating), I had nothing.

My trust was not shattered in a day either. No, the damage occurred over a long time. I interceded, I cried, I went on numerous diets, I plotted, I took slimming capsules, I mistreated my body, other times I nourished my body, I worked out, I tried self-examination, I ate only when genuinely hungry, I went on fasts, I cut down sugars, I tried to ignore it all in the hope that it will all just subside, I joined support groups, and I also went for counseling which helped me find healing for most of my brokenness, but as for my struggle with food addiction ...

Still: Not a thing.

This thing just wouldn't budge. I used up so much funds, hours and effort on this struggle that it seemed as if it turned into a part of me. Therefore , the question: Will I ever be absolutely free of my Food Struggle?

In my desperate search for proper answers, I met many others who tried even more extreme steps than I have: They had a surgical procedure, they received liposuction treatment, some located medical treatments abroad, some got involved in televised competitions, some paid large sums of money to encourage themselves to lose excess weight.

Still: Nearly all of these people finished right where they've started off - with practically nothing - no substantial solution.

Precisely what is this thing?

Why does it have this type of death grip on our contemporary society?

A lot of women are afflicted with eating disorders or some disordered kind of eating, even though we won't be "tagged" as such. An Eating Disorder is understood to be "The incapability to eat in a normal, healthy way". To deprive oneself all week long, and overindulge over the weekend is neither typical nor balanced. To be on and off diet plans for twenty, thirty or forty years of our lives, is definitely not what God had in mind when He supplied us food as nourishment for our bodies!

Ultimately I just could not deny it any further: I had an eating disorder, and it had me. I wanted to know the truth "Would I ever be free from my eating disorder?" I asked God, I enquired around, I read, I analyzed, I received plenty of answers, and I am sharing it with ladies around the world...

My everyday life is not flawless, but it is definitely worth living again. I don't squeeze into a size 2 jeans, but I'm not obsessed anymore. I have peace back, and JOY! Life is very good, and God is awesome!

I created a website and put a program together for ladies battling with food simply because I wanted to see women and mothers get a hold of healing and liberty from the agony of eating disorders. Women manage so much, we must be so strong for so many, and God give us the capacity to undertake these things and still have astounding influence on the ones we love. However, if you have an eating disorder you end up as just a portion of the woman God created you to be...

Don't pay attention to the enemy anymore. Even in your fragile and exhausted condition you can be strong if you put your hand in the hand of the One who really loves you. "With God all things are possible!" It is true. Your food addiction is not too big for the God who manufactured the Universe, you were only deceived into thinking otherwise.

The truth is: God cares about you, and all the ins and outs of your life...

Look, I wish to take your hand and guide you back to the same straightforward reality: God is still God, and He alone can set you free. Your trust can be restored in this unique area, you can hear the Holy Spirit call out your name and remind you:"You're a child of the King of all kings."
